Chonluten is a short peptide biological regulator of gene expression. Research has shown that it is most active in lung tissue and has secondary activity in the gastrointestinal tract. It regulates genes related to inflammation and antioxidant activity, as well as genes involved in inflammatory proliferation response. The regulation of lung mucosal function by Chonluten may have important applications in chronic pulmonary inflammatory diseases such as asthma and COPD.
